Vehicle Puja, also called Vahan Puja, is performed when beginning the use of a new car, motorcycle, scooter, electric vehicle or commercial vehicle. The owner offers prayers for gratitude, responsible use and safe journeys. The ceremony is spiritual in nature and does not replace safe driving, insurance, regular servicing, legal compliance or the use of helmets and seat belts.
When Is Vehicle Puja Performed?
* On or soon after delivery of a new vehicle
* On a suitable muhurta selected from the Panchang
* For a personal, family, company or commercial vehicle
* At a showroom, home, office parking area or another safe stationary location with permission
Main Puja Sequence
The exact sequence may vary according to the family tradition, selected format, available time and the Sankalp. A typical ceremony may include:
* Ganesh Smaran, Achaman and Sankalp by the vehicle owner
* Kalash or brief deity worship according to the selected format
* Application of auspicious kumkum and akshata at suitable exterior points
